The 10th installment of the Rear View Wheel series captures one of the most inherently charming habits in Amsterdam. Riding a bike with an umbrella in hand.

This mentality to use an umbrella only serves to underline how a simple routine translates so effortlessly to riding in the bike lane. While not the most practical way to avoid getting soaked, bicyclists in Amsterdam know that a little rain on the thighs isn’t a reason to avoid going about their day.

Riding with an umbrella also allowed me to get these shots. Granted, most of them were captured while I wore a rain coat with my camera hidden inside. Though I will make the claim of having one of the fastest trigger fingers in the West to prevent my gear from getting wet.

Amsterdammers once again show how an unadulterated lifestyle of riding bikes can be so captivating yet civilized.
